24 Hour Zine making Workshop
Auckland Old Folks Ass., 8 Gundry Street (off K Road)

Participants are challenged to make a 24 page zine in 24 hours! Workshops scheduled throughout the event on related zine-making skills: letterpress, book binding, composition & layout.

All materials provided. Food and snacks provided.

Returning again to St Kevins Arcade & Wine Cellar, this year plans to be our biggest and most impressive year yet!

Almost 40 stall holders will be selling their zine works upstairs at Alleluya Bar & Cafe, whilst talks and workshops on zine related activities will be scheduled downstairs at The Wine Cellar.

Talks/workshops include:
12.30 pm: Cartoon workshop for kids 13+ with The Cartoon Workshop
1.30 pm: Digital publishing presentation by Sim Ahmed of Aucklandia
2.15 pm: Typography workshop with David Coventon
3.30 pm: Panel discussion on zines in New Zealand

All day: Screen printing – bring your own t-shirt and screen print your own merch

Auckland City Libraries will also be bringing selected titles from their 600+ strong zine collection – come and meet your local zine librarian.

Also returning for 2013 is our ‘zine of the fest’ award! Bring along a copy of your zine to be judged by our guest panel. Winners to be announced at the after party.

Auckland Central City Library, 46 Lorne St, Auckland

Guided workshop for kids in the kids area, ground floor of the Auckland City Library. Participants of all ages will make a collaborative zine, which will become a part of the zine collection in the Library. A physical copy of the zine will also be posted out to participants after the event.
