First Thursdays is a multi-faceted art event that spans the length of our beloved Karangahape Road. This year we are very lucky to team up with them to bring you this DIY Edition just in time for August!
25+ venues will be hosting free art events including light installations, a handmade craft market (in association with Foxes), zine making and screen printing workshops, exhibitions and live music, street installations, fashion shows and theatre productions.
We are very proud to bring to you the zine market in the usual spot at Allelyua Cafe, St Kevins Arcade – which is quite possibly the biggest market we have organised yet. Musical goodness in this space will be provided by the ROSE QUARTZ DJS.
Selected titles from the Auckland Libraries zine collection will also be on display at the Film Archive for the duration of the evening. Come celebrate their one year anniversary of the collection with your local zine librarian (there will be cake).
Our friends at Alphabet City will also be bringing their self-publishing space to First Thursdays. They will have everything you need to learn how to make a mini-zine, zines for sale and some titles from their 2300+ zine library to peruse.
